The Moreno Valley Utility embraces the adoption of new technology and has
recently added useful information to its web page regarding Electric Vehicles.
As EVs continue to become more popular on our community’s roadways,
MVU will update data on the benefits of electric vehicle ownership, permitting
requirements for charging stations, rebate programs available for EV
owners, and map locations of public charging stations. Moreno Valley City
Hall is equipped with 6 EV charging stations with plans underway to install 6
additional stations at the City Hall Annex facility.

Electric Vehicles are good for our environment. The electric engines do
not generate emissions that pollute air quality. EVs help reduce CO2

concentrations in the atmosphere and lessen our dependency on fossil fuel.
EVs can help you save money! The cost of electricity to charge an electric
vehicle equates to gasoline that costs $1.83 per gallon. Today, the California
state average cost for gasoline hovers around $3.37 per gallon. EVs are
equipped with highly efficient motors that require less lifetime repair and
maintenance compared to a traditional automobile, providing additional
savings to the owner.
If you own an EV be sure to pull a permit from the City of Moreno Building
Safety Division to install a charging unit at your home or business. A licensed
professional can help you complete the application to be eligible for expedited
processing and approval.
