RELIABILITY &
INFRASTRUCTURE
As a relatively new utility with young infrastructure, a
100% underground distribution system, and a commitment
to flexibility and responsiveness, MVU staff works hard to
maintain an outstanding record of reliability for our customers.
For the last three years (2015 - 2017), the American Public
Power Association (APPA) has recognized MVU with a
Certificate of Excellence in Reliability. This certificate honors
public power utilities that significantly outperform the top
25% of electric utilities across the nation in reliability as
measured by the length of outages.
The completion of the Kitching Substation with 80 MW of
capacity, will not only provide additional capacity to serve
growing demand in the South Industrial Area, but also help
MVU to maintain its record of Excellence in Reliability.
