MANAGEMENT
STATEMENT
When you flip on the light switch as you enter a room, or when you plug in your cell
phone to recharge, the expectation is that power flows, the lights will glow and the
phone will charge. MVU understands that people depend on electricity in thousands
of different ways every day of the year. We pride ourselves on reliably furnishing
electrical service to all of our customers. Through strategic planning, investments
in emerging technology, and capital improvements to our distribution system, MVU
is continually strengthening the dependability of our infrastructure to serve you.
MVU works closely with developers and home builders to consciously build electrical
facilities to meet and exceed growing demand. We implement new and emerging
technology like LED street lights and Smart electric meters to operate more
efficiently, and improve the resiliency of our infrastructure to reduce outage times
for MVU customers.
The utility has been recognized four years in a row (2016-2019) for being in the
top 25% of the national average for power outage and reliability statistics. MVU
has also been awarded Platinum status as a Reliable Public Power Provider by the
American Public Power Association. These accolades don’t happen by accident; they
are a direct reflection of MVU’s faithful dedication to the businesses and residents
of Moreno Valley. This report spotlights MVU’s efforts and accomplishments in
continuing to provide stellar service on a consistent basis.
